Graduation Fair 2025

The Graduation Fair will take place at the City Tech Bookstore on the first floor of the General Building from Tuesday, April 29th, 2025, to Thursday, May 1st, 2025. 

Here is the schedule:

Tuesday, April 29, 2025 | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Wednesday, April 30, 2025 | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Thursday, May 1, 2025 | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

This one-stop event will offer graduating students the opportunity to have their graduation photos taken and to purchase their caps and gowns, class rings, commemorative diploma frames, and more.

As a graduate of City Tech, you are automatically eligible to be a member of the College’s Alumni Association. City Tech is proud to offer valuable services and discounts to all alumni through several partnerships. We hope you’ll take advantage of the many benefits, programs, and services City Tech continues to offer its Alumni.

When and where is the ceremony?

New York City College of Technology will host an in-person graduation at the Barclays Center to celebrate our 2024-2025 graduates. The event will be live-streamed on the college website.

Tuesday, June 3rd, at 4:00 PM at Barclays Center. 620 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217. Click here for directions, and click here for parking information.

How do I get a cap and gown for the ceremony?

Graduates can pre-order their caps and gowns through Jostens by March 16, 2025, and pick them up at the Grad Fair (April 29 – May 1, 9 AM – 5 PM) at the City Tech Bookstore. All students are highly encouraged to pre-order to ensure they receive their materials by the commencement ceremony. Students who do not pre-order will still purchase their regalia in person at the Grad Fair, with limited supply.

I can't attend commencement. What should I do?

Commencement is the celebration of your degree and achievements! We want to celebrate with all graduates, but attedendance is not required and does not impact your ability to receive your degree or graduate.

Are graduation photos and class rings available?

Yes, class rings, diploma frames, class t-shirts, and other alumni items will be available for ordering and purchase from the college bookstore. For graduation photos, you can contact Continental Studios and state that you are a City Tech student when scheduling an appointment. These photos are for personal use only.

When will I receive my diploma?

The Registrar’s Office will provide you with an update regarding your diploma approximately 8 to 10 weeks after your date of conferral.

What happens to my City Tech e-mail address when I graduate?

Your City Tech e-mail address is yours for life. You’ll be able to continue to send and receive e-mails after graduating. Just make sure to log in at least once a year, or it will go dormant, in which case you will have to log in and follow a few steps to reactivate it.

Graduation Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in commencement activities, you must file for graduation with the Registrar’s Office by the deadline of March 14th, 2025. This will ensure that your name is included in the 2024-2025 commencement booklet.

Ticket Information

Each degree candidate will receive a limited number of electronic tickets to enter the Barclays Center. Stay tuned for more information regarding dates and times to access your tickets via your City Tech student email, the College website, our Student Life & Development social media, and the next installment of the Graduation Times Newsletter.

Graduation Keepsakes

Graduating students can purchase items such as class rings, diploma frames, class t-shirts, and other alumni items from the following vendors: Fond Memories and Jostens Regalia.
 

Graduation Photos

On-campus photos for this year’s graduates can be taken during the Graduation Fair on Tuesday, April 29th, through Thursday, May 1st, 2025, from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM in the City Tech bookstore. 
Continental Studios will also offer students the opportunity to have their graduation portrait taken in-studio. Students can schedule an appointment via the website. These photos are for personal use only.

Academic Excellence Awards

An in-person Academic Excellence Awards ceremony will take place at the College to recognize academic achievement for eligible students. Qualified participants will be invited to attend via their City Tech student email only.

Celebrate on Social Media

CLASS OF 2025! CUNY wants you to celebrate your graduation via social media as well. You can search for Instagram filters to help with the festivities. There are many gifs and stickers provided when you enter “CUNY”. Show some City Tech pride by using the hashtag:
